Leinster Club Website Of The Year Awards Presentation L to R: Club Committee Member John Ramsbottom. Leinster Council Chairman John Horan, Club PRO Brian Ramsbottom, Club Chairman John Kelly, Juvenile Club PRO Jimmy Fitzpatrick
It was a night of celebration on Friday last for the Park/Ratheniska GAA Club as we were presented with our award for Leinster GAA Club Website of the year. Introducing the award and the winners, Leinster GAA PRO Pat Teehan praised the Club for our dedication to maintaining an online profile, both by website and Social Media. Mentioning that there are far bigger Clubs across the province, but none who are consistently excelling in the manner in which our small Club are doing so, Teehan held the Club up as an example to Clubs across Leinster in how to go about doing their business online.
He singled out the bright and vibrant look of the site, while outlining the ease with which you can navigate from Clubs history, its Club Constitution, our 5 years Development Plan and up to the minute news on the goings on of the Club, everything you could possibly need to know, was at your fingertips.
Collecting the 2015 award for the Club and our second such award in the past 6 years, was PRO and Web Admin Brian Ramsbottom, who thanked the Leinster Council for shining a light on the Club and its website. "Our Club prides itself on going about our business in the best manner both on and off the field. We are a small rural Club, who in recent years have revitalised our underage structures, and it is very important to us that we promote what we are doing here on a daily basis on every platform that is available to us. We are proud of our place and people, as well as our role in the community and this award is further endorsement of our structures and methodology. We're very proud of our relationship with the Leinster Council, both on and off the field, and we hope to see this continue for many years to come".
Club Chairman John Kelly was also on hand to collect the award, and took the opportunity to not just thank Leinster GAA for the recognition, but also to praise Ramsbottom for his dedication to his role (one which he's held for over 25 years now) and the Club. Kelly stressed the importance of having a vibrant website and online presence, not just for the Club members in the area, but for those living abroad, of which he was one himself not so long ago.
We would like to once again thank the Leinster Council for the award, and their hospitality on the night. Here's to a third piece of crystal sometime again in the future, and to more silverware later in the year with a bit of luck!
